Analysis (GSSTA), a Windows program that uses genetic programming to find
investment rules. GSSTA employs evolutionary computing to construct buy and
sell rules for securities. Select a stock's price and volume data and start
the search. In a matter of minutes the program produces a set of investment
rules.
In a manner akin to the Darwinian process the program creates a large
population of candidate investment systems. Each individual is ranked
according to profitability and resistance to over-optimization. The least
fit members are discarded while the most fit investment systems undergo
analogs of natural selection such as crossover (recombination), mutation and
reproduction.
